    I work with a broad range of clientele from the community, as well as individuals referred by medical/health professionals. I also do considerable medical/legal work (both plaintiff and defence), vocational assessments, and have appeared in court as an expert witness. Clinical issues commonly include: anxiety, depression, chronic pain/illness, head injury/cognitive disruption, PTSD, phobia, Dissociative Identity Disorder, relationship issues, grief, anger management, low self-esteem, stress, child/adult trauma/victimization, etc. My theoretical approach is eclectic with main influences of cognitive-behavioural, experiential, and dynamic/self-psychological theory. I am also trained in provision of EMDR therapy and CPT for trauma. I provide individual and group format services for adults in the areas of clinical, health, and rehabilitation psychology and with children in the areas of health and rehabilitation. I am also certified in vocational assessment services and have completed a Master of Sciences Degree in Clinical Psychopharmacology.

    I am a partner in the psychology practice of McKenzie Zayed. We are a group of Doctoral level, registered Clinical Psychologists who provide comprehensive services for adults, adolescents, and children. We offer individual, couple, and family therapy, and parenting guidance. We also conduct specialized trauma and attachment assessments. Additionally, we offer workshops and presentations on various topics within the field of Clinical Psychology, and we provide clinical supervision and professional consultation services.     I have extensive experience in the assessment and treatment of a wide range of issues, including depression, anxiety, obsessive-compulsive and related disorders, attentional difficulties (e.g., Attention-Deficit/Hyperactivity Disorder), loss/grief, chronic pain/illness, disturbances in eating and/or sleeping, and relationship difficulties. I also have received specialized training in the assessment and treatment of Posttraumatic Stress Disorder, and of complex developmental trauma and its consequences, including attachment disturbances and disorders, dissociation, struggles with sexuality, and personality disorders. Based on my expertise in these areas, I recently expanded McKenzie Zayed to include more extensive and specialized trauma and attachment services.

    Maintaining a diverse professional life is important to me. Our private practice is my main professional focus. Outside of our practice, I hold an Adjunct Professorship in the Departments of Psychiatry and Psychology at the University of Western Ontario (Western University), and in the Department of Psychology at the University of Waterloo. All of my professional pursuits allow me to help nurture development in others. I deeply respect the strength and courage required to move beyond personal challenges and to seek out growth, and I value the role I can play in that process.

I have over fifteen years of experience as a clinical psychologist working within the London community. My approach is integrative, but I do strongly respect the role of emotions and attachment in understanding difficulties and promoting healing.

    I have had the opportunity to work in a variety of hospital and community settings, including community mental health, primary care, and tertiary care. In my clinical work I integrate my research experience in the area of child and adult attachment with empirically validated treatments.
